Dehradun, 6 Feb: The question of how much truth and how much fiction is there behind the allegations of match fixing in Taekwondo in the 38th National Games being held in Uttarakhand is getting bigger. From the Sports Directorate to the Sports Associations, there is a discussion that it is important to clarify how the fixing can happen. Because at the places where sports competitions are going on, video cameras are recording every minute from every angle and a complete procedure is prescribed for conduct of matches.
In this regard, two letters have been written to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) by the Taekwondo Federation of India. Federation Vice President Santosh Kumar Mohanty claimed that the allegation of fixing is baseless. The complaint seems completely baseless, because fixing of matches cannot happen under any circumstances.
A senior officer said that IAS and IPS officers have been involved in the investigation of the related complaint, they must have found something on the basis of which the DOC was removed, but the matter of fixing of matches does not make sense.
The dismissed DOC Praveen Kumar says there is no documentary evidence against him, no photographs and no video or voice recording. And he has not spoken to any official. Action based on baseless allegations is very painful for him and his family is also under a lot of pressure due to this.
