Dehradun, 15 Jan: On the birthday of National Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Neha Joshi, the campaign, “Padhega Uttarakhand, Badhega Uttarakhand”, was launched at Government Girls Inter College, here, today.
On this occasion, Neha Joshi told media persons that under the campaign, in the first phase, distribution of notebooks to children had been started from Dehradun. In the first phase, books would be distributed in Uttarkashi, Tehri, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Haridwar districts of Garhwal. In the second phase, notebooks and books would be distributed in Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Pithoragarh districts of Kumaon.
She asserted that the goal of the above campaign is to distribute books and booklets to boys and girls as well as to make them and their families aware of the development work being done by the state government.
Addressing the event, BJP State General Secretary, Organisation, Ajay Kumar thanked Neha Joshi and said that educating a girl child means educating the entire family. He added that it is a matter of great fortune and pride that Uttarakhand’s literacy rate is among the highest in the country. He added that this effort of Neha Joshi and the citizens working in the education sector would take it further ahead.
On the occasion of his daughter’s birthday, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi announced that study tables would be donated to the students of Government Girls Inter College in Dehradun. He said that, in the present times, it is very important to ensure that the daughters stand on their own feet, become educated and fill themselves with confidence and make their family and Uttarakhand proud by leading in every field.
Nirmala Joshi, Mahesh Nagiya, Anuj Rohila, Mayank Joshi, Anshul Chawla, Raj Joshi, Devendra Bisht and Bhavna Chowdhary were among those present at the programme.
