Pithoragarh, 17 Apr: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami asserted today that the next 10 years will be the years of rapid progress in Uttarakhand.
He was addressing a rally at the Sher Singh Karki Saraswati Vihar School in Muwani here today along with former chief minister and former Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshiyari after inaugurating the Bhaurao Deoras Auditorium in the school.
He stated that, to ensure rapid progress in all the sectors in Uttarakhand, all the departments have been directed to work by setting goals for development and then achieve the goals. Dhami said that Uttarakhand has seen rapid growth in various sectors in the recent past and the objective of the government is to make it a leading state in the country in development.
On this occasion, CM Dhami also announced a grant of Rs 50 lakhs for the expansion of the school and for construction of a motor bridge in Ramganga and bitumen laying on the road that leads to Muwani College. He said that continuous efforts are being made by the state government to bring Uttarakhand in the category of leading states of the country by 2025. For this, new policies regarding major departments like sports, education, tourism, industries, etc., have been drafted and implemented. Schemes that have potential to generate self-employment have been given top priority.
The Chief Minister said the state government is making continuous efforts to solve the problems like migration from the hills. Self-employment oriented policies of various departments have been made in the interest of the youth. The effort is to use the potential of the youth in the interest of the state. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the slogan of “Vocal for Local”, and the state government is determined to make this a reality.
Dhami said that it is the endeavour of the government to make Uttarakhand the number one tourism state of the country and the world, and to get the rich cultural heritage of the state duly recognised on the global stage. He said that, this time, on the occasion of Republic Day, Uttarakhand’s tableau Manskhand got the first prize, which was an honour for the state as well as its folk culture.
Dhami called upon the students to work with full dedication in whatever goals they set in their lives. If the work is done with full dedication and sincerely, and with a sense of duty, then success is bound to be achieved, he declared. He further called upon them to play the role of leaders in whatever field they choose for their life. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is progressing in every field. Under the leadership of Modi, the state government is continuously working to connect the people of the state with employment and self-employment. It is the result of the efficient leadership of the Prime Minister that, today, India is working to show a new direction to the world on the global stage. The Prime Minister has a special attachment to Uttarakhand and this can be understood through the special projects being run by the Central Government here. Work on the development of hills, which earlier seemed just a dream, seems possible today under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
On this occasion, former Governor of Maharashtra and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Bhagat Singh Koshyari in his address reminded the people about the work being done by Sher Singh Karki in the interest of the society and expressed hope that this school will be made into a model and ideal school. He also mentioned that cooperation is also being given by the people of Mumbai for the development of the infrastructure facilities of the school.
