Under the green-waste management programme, two compost units of the upgraded version have been installed, under the society’s supervision at The Doon Club for which the formal inauguration is awaited in the near future. This will be a showcase to attract the club members and they may like to replicate the same at their residences. It was also decided to lend support to societies like Raphael Centre, Cheshire Home and give them free consultation on waste management plans suited to their requirements of huge green waste generated at their campuses.
A Charitable Physiotherapy Centre managed by Pramukh is running very well catering to the needs of the less privileged sections. Now, every alternate day it is open in the evening, also, and the inmates of the night shelter home are given free treatment. Further investment in new equipment like hydro-collator unit and a phase wise increase in salary of qualified physiotherapists were sanctioned. Pramukh will explore the possibility of engaging a doctor for general check-up of shelter inmates in the evening for 3 days a week in addition to the evening physiotherapy services provided on alternate days.
Pramukh is also running an Oxygen Bank where the needy patients are given oxygen filled cylinders free of cost on a token returnable deposit. It was decided to keep all cylinders filled and ready with flow meters and keys at all times for any pandemic preparedness.
As a gesture of charity for the homeless, Pramukh decided to continue providing sanitation services at Doon Shelters for 2023-24 like it has been extending for the last so many years.
The members offered condolences on the sad demise of Dr KN Chhabra, a senior doctor and prominent citizen of Doon, and also decided to send a letter of condolence to his wife, Dr Indu Chhabra, on behalf of Pramukh.
