Dehradun, 26 May: The BJP has termed the boycott of the inauguration of the new Parliament House by the opposition parties as a gross insult to democratic and constitutional values. The Party’s state media in-charge, Manveer Singh Chauhan, today, alleged that the Congress has crossed all limits in opposing Prime Minister Modi and stooped to the level of opposing even the inauguration of the new Parliament building. He said that, in the last 9 years, the opposition has not paid any attention to parliamentary procedures and disrupted sessions of Parliament along with walkouts. This gross disrespect of the opposition towards Parliament and is enough to expose their narrow mindedness. This behaviour of Congress is contempt for democracy, the BJP leader claimed.

Chauhan added that it is unfortunate the opposition is playing politics on this subject related to the dignity of Parliament. Dragging in the name of President Droupadi Murmu in this whole issue is a part of their low-level politics. This new Parliament House has been built by 60,000 Shram Yogis in a record time, who the Prime Minister will also honour on this occasion. Chauhan said that to link the inauguration of the new parliamentary building with politics is condemnable. Congress has been trying to create hurdles in every constructive and development work in one way or the other. He said that Congress should give up the habit of creating controversies on every issue for political purposes and contribute to nation building by doing positive politics.
