Pantnagar, 17 Apr: In a significant achievement for the GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technolyg, on the basis of the excellent functioning and exemplary performance of its National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit, Vice-Chancellor Dr Manmohan Singh Chauhan has been awarded Honorary Colonel rank. This honour has been given by the Indian Army and the Ministry of Defence for outstanding contribution of the NCC unit. The NCC unit of Pantnagar University has played an important role in the all-round development of the cadets, leadership training and strengthening the spirit of national service over the years.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Chauhan expressed his gratitude to the Governor, the Ministry of Defence, the NCC Directorate and all the members of the University family for this honour. He expressed confidence that this recognition will further inspire the youth power of the University and will prove helpful in taking NCC activities to new heights.
