Mussoorie, 21 Aug: Wynberg-Allen School has lifted the 11th Mrs EC West Memorial Invitational Inter-School Swimming Trophy for the year 2022. Gyananda School, Dehradun, was First Runners Up.
The two-day meet is organized every year by Wynberg-Allen School in the memory of EC West, the first principal of the school. A number of schools from Dehradun and neighbouring areas participated in the meet. 
These included Unison Word School, Gyananda School, Hopetown Girls’ School, Adroit Progressive School from Dehradun, Mussoorie International School, Mt Litera Zee School, Roorkee, and Pinegrove School, Solan.
Peehu Uniyal and Vedantie Dave of Hopetown Girls’ School, Gurleen of Pinegrove School, Anintika Goyal of Gyananda School, Saanvi Sharma of Adroit Progressive School, Priyal Kumar, Riddhi Gupta, Chhavi Sangwan of Wynberg-Allen were declared the most promising swimmers of the meet.
The following swimmers were declared individual champions in their respective categories: Arshia Sinha of Wynberg-Allen School in the sub-junior division, Nadia Soni of Mussoorie International School in the junior division, Parihan Dave of Unison World School in the intermediate division, and Stuti Sarawagi of Wynberg-Allen School in the senior division. 
Parihan Dave, representing Unison World School, won 3 gold medals in the 50 metres Freestyle, Breast Stroke and 200 IM, and also won Individual Championship Trophy (IC).
Vedantie Dave, representing Hopetown Girls’ School, won 1 gold in 50 metres butterfly stroke, 2 silvers in 50 metres Freestyle and 200 IM and won the Best Promising Player Trophy.
The Overall Trophy for the championship for the year 2022 was won by the host school while Gyananda School was First Runners Up. Unison Word School was declared the Second Runners Up at the meet.
Headmaster, Senior School, P Radcliffe and Mrs E Tindale gave away the trophies and certificates to the winners. Principal L Tindale congratulated all the winners and thanked all the schools for their enthusiastic participation. He also thanked the swimming coach, Samandar Singh, Suman Singh and Champa Dhakpa for successfully organising the meet. Present on the occasion were Mahipal Singh, Anjana Devi, Usha Sheetal, Munish Kumar, Daljit Kaur, Rashmi, Surbhi, Nabanita Debnath, Jagmohan Negi, Tashi Tsering and Anil Choudhary.
