Dehradun, 9 Feb: “Parliamentary reporting brings more responsibility along with prestige.” This was said by Manikant Thackur, who was addressing a webinar, today, at the Graphic Era Hill University.
Deputy Director of DD India and DD News, New Delhi, Manikant Thackur shared his views on the topic, “Reporting Parliamentary and Political Affairs”. He gave tips to the media students on reporting on the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.
He asked the students to stay focused on factual reporting and present the news in an unbiased manner. He said that the journalists covering parliamentary proceedings must have knowledge about the sessions and information about the members of Parliament. For this, students must be focused and dedicated to the subject from the beginning and have good writing speed in order to record everything being said.
Thackur said that students of Media have good job opportunities in the government offices along with the private media.
Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Prof Dr Sanjay Jasola proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Assistant Professor Shikha Tyagi. The webinar was attended by the faculty members and students of Media and Mass Communication department of Graphic Era Hill University’s Dehradun and Haldwani campuses.
