Dehradun, 23 Dec: Dr. Sushmita Sen Pandey, Additional Commissioner, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Uttarakhand, suddenly passed away on 21 December due to cardiac arrest. Her untimely death has caused a big vacuum in consumer circles, where she had a leading role in providing facts and figures about various rules and was instrumental in setting up a system of online consumer complaints for quick redressal and making available all types of consumer related orders.
She was known for welcoming all with a pleasant smile, always helpful in solving consumer problems and apprising consumers about the latest rules and regulations. She was very knowledgeable and expressed her views in a very systematic manner which the consumers very much appreciated. Her way of putting across various aspects where adulteration was being done was very much liked by all concerned. She was very active with a cheerful disposition. The consumers of Dehradun will miss her for a very long time to come.
May the Almighty keep her soul in peace and give strength to the members of the family to bear this sudden irreparable loss.
