PAURI, 30 Aug: The relief amount announced by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for families affected by the disaster in Pauri Garhwal district has been distributed. This information has been shared by the Pauri district administration. The victims have expressed their gratitude for the decision, calling it a great relief in their time of crisis.
It may be recalled that on the evening of August 26, Chief Minister Dhami had announced that, in addition to Dharali and Tharali, a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each would be provided to the owners of completely damaged residential buildings and the families of the deceased in Pauri. A part of this amount is being provided from the SDRF fund and the remaining from the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund.
The Chief Minister had also instructed that the relief amount be delivered to the beneficiaries promptly and transparently. He said that the government stands firmly with the affected families in this difficult time.
In pursuance of the directions issued by the CM, under the prompt direction of District Magistrate Swati S Bhadoriya, a team from the Revenue Department, led by Tehsildar Pauri Diwan Singh Rana, visited the affected areas to distribute the relief cheques. He stated that relief cheques were handed over to the villagers whose houses were destroyed and to the heirs of the deceased.
It is noteworthy that heavy rainfall and landslides had completely damaged a total of 22 residential buildings in the villages of Sainji, Buransi, Raidul, Faladwari, Kyard, Kalun, and Mankoli in Pauri tehsil, while six people had died. The CM himself had visited the disaster-affected area on August 7 and had instructed the administration to provide immediate relief.
According to the district administration, upon receiving the relief amount, the victims said that this assistance would help them restart their lives. They thanked Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and said that the government had acted swiftly and ensured support at every level during this difficult time.
