Dehradun, 7 May: BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan today stated that the country has been witness to the real intentions of the Congress regarding Ram and his temple and now the public does not trust the arguments that the Congress is giving during the elections.
Responding to the statement of former CM Harish Rawat, Chauhan said that Congress has only now started claiming that it does not stop its leaders from visiting Ram Temple when PM Narendra Modi thoroughly exposed it on this issue. Now the Congress has started issuing clarification over the Ram temple issue to avoid further damage control. However the people have seen through the drama of Congress leaders. Chauhan said that everyone knows that the Congressmen, who created hurdles in the construction of the temple due to appeasement, were seen distancing themselves from the consecration of the Ram Temple in spite of being invited by the Temple Committee. Because of its opposition and boycott of the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Temple, several Congress leaders who had faith in Lord Ram chose to quit the party.
Chauhan also claimed that people have not forgotten Congress which had questioned the very existence of Lord Ram and had strongly opposed construction of the Ram Temple by deputing a battery of its lawyers in the Court. Hence, it is natural to be apprehensive about what decision the Congress will take in the future. Congress can go to any extent for appeasement of certain minorities.
Chauhan said that seeing the attitude of Sanatan followers during the elections, Congress has been forced to come on the backfoot, but it is not going to get any benefit from it. The then PM Dr Manmohan Singh had openly declared that Muslims had the first right on the country’s resources, so the public’s concern is justified.
