Gov interacts with CII Office Bearers
Dehradun, 15 May: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd), met with a delegation from Confederation of Indian Industry (CII Uttarakhand) at the Lok Bhavan here on Friday. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held between the Governor and industry representatives on various issues related to the state’s development, investment, skill development, and inclusive growth.
Addressing the gathering, Lt Gen Singh stated that the industrial sector is not only a creator of economic wealth but also an important partner in nation-building, innovation, employment generation, and social transformation. He said that industries would play a crucial role in making Uttarakhand a developed, self-reliant, and inclusive state.
The Governor further remarked that the state’s development journey cannot be accomplished solely through government efforts. Strong collaboration among the government, industry, academia, and society is essential for sustainable progress. He emphasised that the private sector is not merely a supporting partner in the development process, but a “strategic force multiplier” that accelerates growth through investment, innovation, managerial expertise, and technological efficiency.
He also highlighted the importance of continuous dialogue among the government, industries, educational institutions, and the administration for the holistic development of the state. He informed that in the upcoming meeting, representatives from industry, academia, and the administration would be brought together for extensive deliberations to formulate a concrete and practical roadmap for Uttarakhand’s development.
During the meeting, members of CII also presented various suggestions to the Governor regarding industrial development, skill enhancement, investment promotion, and employment generation.
On this occasion, the Chairman of CII Uttarakhand, Sanjay Aggarwal, Head & Director CII UK Gaurav Lamba, leading CAs Hemant Arora and Verendra Kalra, hotelier Manu Kochhar, Lovelena Mody, Raghav Oberoi of Oasis School, Pavitra Arora, along with other office bearers, were also present.
