Dehradun, 15 Apr: Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh has appointed Prof Manmohan Singh Chauhan as the Vice Chancellor of Kumaon University, till a new Vice Chancellor is selected or for a period of 6 months whichever is earlier. It may be recalled that Professor Manmohan Singh is currently the Vice Chancellor of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. The charge as VC of Kumaon University is an additional charge for which he will not be given any additional salary. The post of Vice Chancellor of the Kumaon University had fallen vacant following the resignation of Prof NK Joshi as VC after he has been selected as Vice Chancellor of Shri Dev Suman University for a period of 3 years. Prof NK Joshi had resigned as VC of Kumaon University on 12 April. His resignation has been accepted by the Governor.
