Dehradun, 7 Mar: The Regional Manager of the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development, Dr Poonam Sinha, called on Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhavan, here, on Tuesday. She provided detailed information to the Governor about the mission, vision and objectives of the institute as well as the main activities undertaken in Uttarakhand.
The Governor said that there are better possibilities for small and medium scale industries in Uttarakhand. The institute will have to work on training, consultancy, research for entrepreneurship and skill development among people. He said that skill development and entrepreneurship training programmes should be organised, especially for the women, youth, ex-service personnel and inmates of jails.
He asked the Institute cooperate in packaging, branding and marketing products of the Self Help Groups.
The Governor said that people doing good work in the field of entrepreneurship should be felicitated so that others can also be inspired. He said that a seminar on the subject of entrepreneurship and skill development should also be organised at the Raj Bhavan. Instead of looking for employment, people should become employment providers. He said that special emphasis should be laid on entrepreneurship and motivating people.
