Dehradun, 11 Dec: A delegation of the Public Relations Society of India (PRS India), Dehradun Chapter, paid a courtesy call on the Director General of Police (DGP), Deepam Seth, here, today.
During the meeting, discussions were held on making the “Drug-Free Uttarakhand” campaign more effective, preventing road accidents, reducing the dangers of cybercrimes, and ensuring public participation in these areas.
DGP Deepam Seth emphasised that the Drug-Free Uttarakhand campaign is a top priority for Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Under his directives, the police administration is taking strict action against anti-social elements and mafia involved in drug activities. He stated that collective efforts are required to curb this issue, and that the police are conducting awareness programmes to save youth from falling into the trap of drugs, with the contribution of every section of society being essential.
The discussion also covered measures to prevent road accidents, with a focus on strict adherence to traffic rules and public awareness. In this regard, DGP Seth mentioned that police checks have been significantly increased. He emphasised that road safety is a shared responsibility and that the cooperation of organisations like PRSI can play a crucial role in this.
The growing cases of cybercrimes were also addressed at the meeting. DGP Seth pointed out that raising awareness about digital safety and the secure use of the internet is critical to preventing cybercrimes. He urged the PRSI members to take an active role in this regard.
PRS India Dehradun Chapter President Ravi Bijarnia stated that the organisation will play an active role in spreading awareness about “Drug-Free Uttarakhand”, road safety, and cybercrimes. The organisation will use its expertise in public relations to effectively support the police department in these awareness campaigns.
Other members of PRSI also shared their suggestions during the meeting. Present at the meeting were PRSI Secretary Anil Sati, members Priyank, Manoj Sati, Ayush, Sanjay Bisht, and Pratap Bisht.
