Dehradun, 26 Oct: BJP leader Ravindra Jugran has stated that a meeting of the management committee of the 100-year-old Gorkha Military Inter College, established in 1925, was held in the college premises to discuss measures for saving the institution.

During the meeting, Ravindra Jugran assured all present that he would make every possible effort to protect and preserve the historic Gorkha Military Inter College.

It is worth noting that the college was granted a 90-year lease by the Army, which has now expired. The institution has received a notice to vacate the premises. However, at present, the college management has obtained a stay order from the lower court in Dehradun.

Ravindra Jugran highlighted that this historic institution has produced numerous distinguished alumni who have earned recognition at national and international levels. Many of its students have served with honour in the armed forces and excelled in sports and other fields. Several alumni have displayed exemplary valour in various wars, earning Mahavir Chakra, Vir Chakra, and other gallantry awards.

The meeting was attended by the management committee members, including Senior Advocate and Manager LB Gurung, President Colonel Thapa, Vice President Khatri, Advisor Brigadier Gurung (Retd), and Principal Deepali Thapliyal Jugran, among others.
