Dehradun, 12 Oct: The government today appointed retired IPS officer Ganesh Singh Martolia as the new Chairman of the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC). He replaces retired IAS officer S Raju, who had resigned on moral grounds after it came to the fore that several recruitments conducted by the UKSSSC had been rigged.

At the same time, Secretary of UKSSSC, Santosh Badoni had first been transferred back to his parent department the Secretariat and then suspended.

The order appointing Martolia as the new Chairman of UKSSSC was issued today under the signature of Secretary, Personnel and Vigilance, Shailesh Bagoli.

The appointment will become effective from the date Martolia joins. The government order does not mention any period for which Martolia has been appointed. However, post retirement reappointments are generally made for three to five years or till the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
