Rudrapur, 12 Oct: The vigilance team probing the SI Recruitment scam of 2015 in Uttarakhand reached GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology in Pantnagar today to interrogate some University officials.
The team led by CO, Vigilance, Deep Shikha Agarwal interrogated Dr NS Jadaun, who was the Chairman of the Test and Selection Committee during the time when the scam had happened, for about 6 hours. After this, the team also took him to the Veterinary College, where some documents were scrutinised. The inquiry by the Vigilance team is still underway in the case. The recruitment examination for the post of Police Sub Inspector was conducted in the year 2015. The responsibility for this recruitment was given to the Test and Selection Committee of Pantnagar University. In all, 356 sub inspectors were directly recruited to the police department following this test. However, soon after, the allegations had been made regarding rigging of the test. The preliminary inquiry has revealed irregularity in the recruitment process. This led to the interrogation of many of the sub inspectors recruited through this test and it was found that the test had been rigged. It was also alleged that many of the sub inspectors selected through this test had little knowledge of policing and they had not been able to pick up even the basic writing of the reports and filing of the cases.
