Dehradun, 27 May: The Rotary Club Dehradun donated fifty steel benches and tables, each, to Government Girls Inter College, Lakhibagh, and to SGRR Inter College, Sahaspur, at their demand for use of students.
Neelam Joshi, Principal, GGI College, thanked the Club for the goodwill gesture towards improving the facilities in this 115 year old school. A skit was also staged by the students on girls’ education.
Present on the occasion were Rotarians Dr S Farooq, Arvind Oberoi, Dr SL Gupta, DK Gahlot. RK Saini Principal, SGRR Inter College, Sahaspur, also thanked Rotarian RK Bakshi, President, Rotary Club Dehradun, for the help. Inter Science classes, which are being introduced from 2019, had no furniture. The assistance will prove a great help.
Chief Guest Justice Rajesh Tandon, Chairman, Uttarakhand Law Commission, Dr S Farooq, Special Guest, Sanjay Garg, Lt Col Hussain, Mukhya Shiksha Adhikari Painuli, the Village Pradhan and several prominent persons and parents of students were present on the occasion. Dr Farooq appreciated the efforts of Principal Saini to upgrade the education by making the environment comfortable and promised all help in future, too.
