DEHRADUN, 28 Jan: Rotary Club Doon Shivalik Hills celebrated Republic Day with pomp and show with the ‘Best Society’. All the society and club members assembled at the society premises, including Rotary Assistant Governor, Zone 12, Jagriti Nawani, President Praveen Goel, Secretary Akhil Kukreja, Past President Dr DP Nawani and other dignitaries. The AG unfurled the national flag. This was followed by singing of the National Anthem by all present. Speeches were also delivered. The Assistant Governor also shared her ideas with the gathering. She emphasised on the need to say no to polythene. As per an ongoing project, she highlighted the need to quit polythene and say yes to cloth bags. The club has distributed more than 5000 bags to people till date. These bags were distributed to the public on this occasion, also. Jagriti Nawani extended thanks to Tapan and Mrs Tapan for all the arrangements. Also present Puneet Tandon, Surendra Petwal and all the residents of Best Society.
