Sankalp & KCM conduct Environment Awareness Rally



DEHRADUN, 8 Aug: Volunteers of ‘Sankalp Shikshan Avam Kalyan Samiti’ and Kshatriya Chetna Manch (KCM) conducted an Environment Awareness Rally in Village Sunderwala, here, with the help of children, teachers and staff of the local Primary School and Junior High School. The rally started from the residence of Sankalp President Ravi Singh Negi and ended near Raksha Anushandhan School. Children distributed paper bags free of cost to the shopkeepers. Bags were prepared by these children during the week from old newspapers. They requested shopkeeprs and other people to discard polybags and use paper and cotton bags instead. They also spread awareness about the environment amongst people. The rally was conducted by General Secretary of Sankalp Anita Negi and Communication Secretary Alpana Chauhan Giri. Sankalp President Ravi Singh Negi said that during the Environment Week, besides the rally, various competitions on the environment theme would be conducted in various schools. An awareness programme would be carried out for children and the local population. Awareness week commenced on 5 August and will conclude on 11 August at Maharana Pratap Bhawan, Nanurkhera. Trees will be planted and prizes presented to the winners of various competitions conducted for children during the week. Besides the children and staff of the schools, others present were KCM President Mohan Singh Chauhan, Devendra Pundir, Betal Pundir, Vijaya Sharma, Gayatri, Sheela Kumari, Vidhya Rawat and Manjeeta Dhiman, etc
