SBS University hosts Expert Lecture on Global Approaches in Physiotherapy Treatment

Dehradun, 16 Sep: Sardar Bhagwan Singh University organised a lecture on “Global Approaches in Physiotherapy Treatment” on 13 September, featuring Dr Diana Pinto as the resource person.

Dr Pinto, a renowned physiotherapist from Mumbai, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and an MS in Biokinesiology. She specialises in Sports Performance Nutrition, Sports-specific Personal Training, and Dry Needling. Additionally, Dr Pinto has a Diploma in Sports Medicine and is a respected dry needling instructor. She is also the founder of Gut Goin Clinic.

In her lecture and practical demonstration, Dr Pinto advocated for the importance of microbiomes in the human body, particularly the gut microbiome. She emphasised the need for physiotherapists to adopt a holistic approach, considering the entire body rather than focusing solely on the specific issues patients present.

The event was organised under the guidance of SP Singh, Chairman of Gaurav Bharti Shiksha Sansthan; Dr Gauravdeep Singh, President of Sardar Bhagwan Singh University, and Prof (Dr) J Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Sardar Bhagwan Singh University. Distinguished attendees included Prof (Dr) Deepak Sahni, Registrar of Sardar Bhagwan Singh University, Prof (Dr) Maneesh Arora, Dean of Student Welfare, Prof (Dr) Reena Kumari, Head, Department of Physiotherapy, and Prof (Dr) R Arunmzohi, Professor of Physiotherapy and Deputy Controller of Examinations. Dr Maitri Chaturvedi coordinated the programme, which was attended by faculty members of the Physiotherapy Department and Master of Physiotherapy students.
