DEHRADUN, 26 Mar: The Returning Officer for the Tehri Garhwal Lok Sabha Constituency, District Magistrate SA Murugeshan, today conducted scrutiny of the nomination papers filed by the candidates. Candidates and their election agents were also present on the occasion.
Murugeshan said that a total of 23 sets of nomination papers had been filed by 15 candidates, of which two were women. All of these were found in order. He pointed out that nominations can be withdrawn till 3 p.m. on 27 March. Symbols will be allocated to the candidates on 29 March. The second phase of randomisation of election personnel had also been completed. They will be provided training at the Maharana Pratap Sports College from 27 to 31 March. The third and fourth phase of training will take place from 2 to 5 April. Polling parties would leave for the Chakrata VS area on 9 April, while the rest will leave on 10 April from the Sports College.
Present during the scrutiny were Observer Rajiv Ranjan, SDM Avdhesh Kumar and other officials.
