DEHRADUN, 26 Aug: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) of Uttarakhand will soon get a new uniform. The new dress will be designed in such a way that it will be more comfortable and will also help the force carry necessary rescue equipment easily.
SDRF plays an important role in saving lives during natural disasters, road accidents, and other emergencies. The force was formed in 2013 and since then has been carrying out tough rescue operations in mountains, forests, rivers, and disaster-hit areas.
According to IG SDRF Arun Mohan Joshi, rescue work is very difficult and often requires carrying heavy equipment. The new uniform will be designed scientifically, keeping in mind both safety and the need to carry equipment properly. This will make rescue work smoother and faster.
At present, SDRF has 42 posts across 13 districts of Uttarakhand. Teams are always ready in disaster-prone areas. The force has also been given modern equipment like wireless sets, satellite phones, and communication systems to improve coordination during rescue work.
Officials said that the new uniform will not only ensure the safety of SDRF personnel but also make their operations more effective. This change will help the force perform rescue missions quickly and provide timely relief to affected people.
