Dehradun, 25 Sep: A senior citizen in Patel Nagar, has become a victim of online fraud.
Ashok Kumar Gupta, a resident of Dream Home Apartment near Shivalik School, received a call on 20 June 2025 from a man who introduced himself as Deepak Mishra. The caller said he was from PNB Credit Card services and asked for some personal details. He also assured Gupta that his new credit card would be delivered by Monday.
However, on 22 September 2025, the same person fraudulently withdrew Rs 2,65,000 and Rs 5,00,000 from his bank account. The victim has also lodged the matter with the Cyber Cell under reference number 33509250017762.
Gupta filed a written complaint at Patel Nagar Police Station. Police have registered the case and further investigation is underway.
