CM enumerates achievements of his govt in past two years before media

Dehradun, 23 Mar: On the occasion of completion of two year tenure of the BJP Government in the state, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today addressed the media and enumerated the achievements of his government. Dhami claimed that Uttarakhand is rapidly moving forward on the path of all-round development through various projects, schemes and events like the Global Investors Summit. The CM claimed that his government has taken historic decisions regarding anti-copying law, conversion law and UCC.
Many achievements to the credit of Govt
The Chief Minister reminded that the tenure of the elected government of the state has completed two years. This is the first time after the formation of the state when the myth of the government changing hands and the party in every state election was broken in the state. It was the first time that any political party (BJP) was given the opportunity to serve for the second consecutive time by the people of the state. He added that for the first time after the formation of the state, many major achievements have been ensured during this two-year tenure. He however conceded that along with the achievements, some major challenges also surfaced in the state during the past two years.
Dhami said that his government has finally passed the UCC in the Assembly. This was one of the major promises of the BJP when it went to the assembly polls two years ago. After the passage of the UCC Bill, it was sent to the Governor who after according his sanction sent it to the President for final approval since the UCC is a subject in the concurrent list in the Constitution. The President has also given her consent to the bill. Now a committee has been formed to draft the rules and regulations after which the UCC will soon be implemented. As soon as the Act comes into force, everyone’s doubts will be cleared. The safety of every section of people has been ensured in this law.
The Chief Minister also reminded that the government has also passed a strong anti-copying law, anti-conversion law, anti-riot law, all of which have been implemented in the state and they will make a major difference. He reminded that a provision has also been made to give the benefit of 30 percent horizontal reservation to the women of the state and 10 percent horizontal reservation to the statehood activists and their dependents.
CM and Vigilance Helpline set up
CM Dhami stressed that Helpline 1064 has been set up to curb corruption by the state and more areas have been included under jurisdiction of regular police instead of revenue police in order to enforce better law and order and to ensure speedy investigation of crimes in those areas.
Dhami said that the state’s annual budget has been increased significantly as compared to 2012. A large number of investors participated in the Global Investors Summit held in Dehradun in December last. Till now the grounding process of investment proposals worth more than Rs 81 thousand crores has been achieved. The ‘House of Himalaya Brand’ has been prepared to brand the products of the state.
Connectivity improved
The CM said that two new cities will be established in Uttarakhand. In addition, the Haridwar-Rishikesh Ganga Corridor project will be completed by 2026 and Sharda Corridor will also be taken up. He reminded that Jamrani Dam Project and Song Dam Project have also been approved for Haldwani and Dehradun region. Approval of Rs 1700 crore has been received from the centre for the reconstruction of Joshimath. Dhami insisted that Heli connectivity has been promoted in the state under the UDAN scheme and this will be launched in all the districts. Dehradun Airport has been made a much better airport which is counted among the selected airports of the country. Land has been acquired to make Pantnagar Airport an international airport. Speaking about the under-construction Dehradun-Delhi Expressway, he said that soon one will be able to reach Delhi from Dehradun in under three hours.
Employment Created
The facilities in Chardham Yatra have been greatly improved. The recruitment process is going on at a fast pace in all the departments. A total of 6,635 youth have been given employment in the past two years through the Public Service Commission. In 22 years only 7,600 youth were given employment. The process of providing employment to the youth is in progress. Various scholarship schemes have been started for students. 207 medical diagnostic tests are being conducted free of cost in government hospitals. Medicines are being delivered to remote areas through drones. Under the scheme of Lakhpati Didi, women are being made millionaires.
Positive impact of Double engine government is evident
CM Dhami claimed that as a result of work one by the double engine government, more than 60 lakh people are being benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. 9 lakh people are getting benefits under Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
Uttarakhand to construct guest house in Ayodhya
The CM said that with the consecration of temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, he is worshiped by everyone. The Government has decided to build a guest house in Ayodhya. For which land has also been given by the UP government. Other parties are working to divide the people of the country while the BJP is uniting them. He claimed that the alliance of opposition parties is just an illusion. Rahul Gandhi has given the statement of abolishing the Shakti which the Hindus so much rever and worship in the Sanatan tradition.
Greater focus on tourism
Dhami added that Surkanda Devi Temple Ropeway has been started. Last year, more than 56 lakh devotees visited Chardham. Due to efficient management, Kanwar Yatra was also completed smoothly. More than 4 crore Kanwar pilgrims visited the state last season to fetch Ganga water from here for worship. Not only this, while moving forward in the direction of cultural nationalism, work is also being done on Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission for the development of mythological and ancient temples of Kumaon on the lines of Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham. Its master plan is also being prepared. Along with Kedarkhand, an action plan is being prepared on Manaskhand Corridor, Haridwar-Rishikesh Corridor, Sharda Corridor. Approval of ₹ 304 crore has been given for home stay scheme for rural economy and establishment of 17648 polyhouses in the state.
The Chief Minister said that an attractive new tourism and film policy have been made in the state. In this, a provision of up to 100 percent subsidy has been made to promote self-employment. We plan to develop 06 Aroma Valleys. Along with Mission Apple and Mission Kiwi, it has been decided to start Mission Cinnamon and Mission Timaru.
Course grains promoted* aggressively:
He said that due to the vision of the Prime Minister, India’s nutritious coarse grains are getting world class recognition. The government is also promoting local coarse grains like Manduwa, Jhangora etc in Uttarakhand. State Millet Mission has been approved. For the empowerment of women of the state, a scheme called ‘Mukhyamantri Lakhpati Didi Yojana’ has been launched and under this, there is a target of associating 1.25 lakh sisters awith women self-help groups millionaires by the year 2025.
