Dehradun, 22 Aug: St Joseph’s Academy hosted the Bro ET Dunne Memorial Middle School English and Hindi Debate for classes VII and VIII on Thursday with great enthusiasm and participation. The programme began with a prayer, followed by a brief introduction about Bro ET Dunne. The judges for the event were warmly welcomed before the debates commenced.
Students of Class 8 opened the debate, putting forth well-reasoned arguments, followed by equally engaging performances from Class 7 participants. The young debaters impressed the audience and judges alike with their confidence, clarity, and critical thinking. The judges then addressed the gathering, offering valuable feedback and encouragement. A musical filler presentation added colour to the event. The much-awaited results were announced, and prizes were distributed to the winners, applauding their hard work and talent.

Best Speaker Class 8, For, – Adhishri Sharma; Best Speaker Class 8, Against, Vinayak Bahuguna; Runners Up Speaker Class 8, For, Annika Kathait; Runners Up Speaker Class 8, Against, Akshat Kaushal; Best Speaker Class 7, For, Rudraksh Mukherjee; Best Speaker Class 7, Against, Swara Maheshwari; Runners Up Speaker Class 7, For, Ananya Barthwal; Runners Up Speaker Class 7, Against, Chahna Pal.
The results of the Hindi Debate were: Best Speaker Class 8, For, Aradhya Kotnala; Best Speaker Class 8, Against, Ojas Malhotra; Runners Up Speaker Class 8, For, Juneli Chaudhary; Runners Up Speaker Class 8, Against, Eklavya Bhatia. Best Speaker Class 7, For, Aradhya Negi; Best Speaker Class 7, Against, Shivam Nautiyal; Runners Up Speaker Class 7, For, Pranavi Joshi; Runners Up Speaker Class 7, Against, Agrita Upadhyay.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Principal, Bro Joseph M Joseph, marking the end of a successful and memorable debate competition.
