Kotdwar, 4 Jan: Assembly Speaker and local MLA Ritu Khanduri Bhushan participated as the Chief Guest in the country-wide ‘Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ programme being run under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, here, today.
The people of the area welcomed her with flower garlands.
The Speaker interacted directly with the beneficiaries present and gave them detailed information about the schemes of the government.
During the event, the Speaker took a pledge with the residents of the area for a developed India. She also inspected the stalls set up by various departments. She distributed gas cylinders to the beneficiaries of the Ujwala Scheme.
She said that at the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the resolution of ‘building a developed India’ is awakening among the people and also making them aware of their rights and responsibilities.
She added that the main objective of Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra is to extend the benefits of government schemes to those needy and eligible citizens who, due to some reasons, have been left out. During the yatra, information about schemes is being given by reaching rural areas through LEDs installed in IEC vans.
Also present on the occasion were Pankaj Bhatia, Anita Arya, Maneshwari Bisht, Meenu Dobriyal, Rajni Bisht, Darshan Singh Bisht, Gajendra Dhasmana, etc.
