Dehradun, 22 Dec: The redevelopment of roads in the Kotdwar assembly constituency is progressing on war footing. The main roads and connecting routes in the region are being reconstructed, and improvements are being made to existing roads to ensure smooth accessibility for people in the future.
On Friday, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, who is the local legislator from Kotdwar, laid the foundation stones in her constituency for improvement of various roads and connecting routes that will cost approximately Rs 9 crores. These roads will collectively total over 15 kilometres.
During this event, the local residents expressed their gratitude. The residents had previously informed the Speaker about the deteriorating condition of the connecting routes. In response, she had directed the relevant department officials to formulate proposals for road construction.
Speaker Bhushan mentioned that the Modi Government at the Centre and the Dhami Government in the state are actively working on development issues. Several projects are under construction in the district, and once completed, the district’s landscape will transform.
After reaching Haldikhata in Kotdwar, the Speaker laid the foundation stone for the road costing Rs 240.89 lakhs. Later, she reached Jhanda Chowk Main Bazaar, where she laid the foundation stones for various roads.
During the event, she directed the officials to ensure the quality and timely completion of the road construction projects.
Present on the occasion were BJP Mandal President Manoj Panthari, Chief Engineer, PWD, DP Singh, Councillor Manish Bhatt, Neeru Bala Khantwal, Rameshwari Devi, Pankaj Bhatia, Suman Kotnala, Hari Singh Pundir, Meena Bainswal, Anita Gaur, Umesh Tripathi, and others.
