Dehradun 11 Nov: Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan interacted with meritorious girl students who have passed class 12th through aegis of the Department of Women’s Empowerment and Child Development, and the beneficiaries of Nanda Gaura Yojana, today.
Dehradun District Magistrate Sonika was also present on the occasion.
The programme was organised by the Child Development Department at the official residence of the Speaker in Yamuna Colony. Bhushan interacted with the girls and inspired them to work hard by being honest with themselves. Sharing her experiences of student life, she answered the questions asked by the girls and asked them to set goals according to their interests.
The Speaker interacted one by one with all the 25 girls who had come to meet her. It was stated at the programme that some of the girls are serious about taking up boxing as their sport and some are doing courses related fashion design and as air hostesses. The Speaker gave them adequate time and answered their queries.
She spent about two hours among the girls and wished the girls good luck in studying and success in life. She stressed that girl students had to understand the importance of education in their lives and set big goals by reading and writing so that they could touch the heights and become self-reliant.
On this occasion, each girl child was given a nutrition calendar to take care of her health, a diary to get information about the schemes and a purse prepared under Vocal to Local.
Chief Development Officer, Jharna Kamthan, District Programme Officer Dr Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, Child Development Project Officer Raipur, Manjeshwari Rawat, State Coordinator Vimla Makhloga, Women Welfare Officer Saroj Dhyani, Centre Administrator Maya Negi and Area Supervisor and Anganwadi workers were present at the programme.
