Speaker unveils statue of Veerangana Teelu Rauteli in Kotdwar

Kotdwar, 28 Jan: Kotdwar witnessed a historic and proud moment for the land of valour, Uttarakhand, when a grand statue of the great warrior woman, Veerangana Teelu Rauteli, was formally unveiled in the city. The inauguration was performed by the Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan.

The statue was unveiled amidst traditional rituals, Vedic chants, and cultural performances during a grand ceremony. A large number of public representatives, administrative officers, social workers, intellectuals, and local citizens were present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Speaker Bhushan said that Veerangana Teelu Rauteli is an eternal symbol of women’s bravery, self-respect, and patriotism. She stated that Teelu Rauteli’s life is an inspiring saga of struggle, courage, and sacrifice, which will continue to guide future generations. She added that the statue would not only become an identity of Kotdwar but would also strongly showcase the glorious culture and history of Uttarakhand.

Speakers at the event highlighted the extraordinary valour, social contributions, and historical role of Veerangana Teelu Rauteli in detail. Paying homage to her, they called upon people to imbibe her ideals in their lives.

A sense of special enthusiasm and pride was evident among the residents of Kotdwar on this historic occasion. The Teelu Rauteli Vichar Manch expressed gratitude to all the guests, supporting organisations, the administration, and citizens for the successful organisation of the programme.

On this occasion, Mayor Shailendra Rawat, Mandal President Vikasdeep Mittal, Prema Khantwal, former Minister Surendra Singh Negi, former Mayor Hemlata Negi, Umesh Tripathi, Satish Gaur, MLA representative Pramod Keshtwal, Kamal Negi, Jitendra Negi, Mahesh Negi, and several other dignitaries were also present.
