Dehradun, 8 Aug: Young Children with Special Needs (CWSN) from Green Field School (GFS), Dehradun, celebrated Raksha Bandhan in a heartfelt gesture by presenting handcrafted Rakhis to the Rajpur Road MLA Khajan Das, here, today. These Rakhis were lovingly created by these students from waste material as a mark of respect and affection.
The students are part of Project BODHI – Inclusive Care Centres, where they are engaged in learning craftwork and other creative skills under the guidance of senior teacher Anita Sharma.
“We at GFS are committed to providing equal opportunities to all students, regardless of their capacities or special abilities,” said Reena Jaggi, Principal of GFS. She also emphasised that GFS is the only school in the region offering inclusive communication and education tailored to the needs of children with special needs.
MLA Khajan Das warmly welcomed the children and appreciated the school’s commitment to inclusive education and skill development for these young learners.
Sunita Machkola, Parshad of Dalanwala, also motivated the students, encouraging them to keep learning and exploring new opportunities in life through the vision and mission of GFS.
Shubhang, Project Head of BODHI, spoke about the innovative teaching methodologies adopted at the centre, including the integration of AI tools and applications for early identification, screening, and support for children with special needs. He also shared the future roadmap of the BODHI Inclusive Care Centre.
Students Harshali Bisht, Anuja Negi, Tijil, Anshika Pant, Aradhaya, and many others were present at the event, accompanied by Asma (Special Educator) and Sonia from GFS.
