Dehradun, 8 Aug: St Joseph’s Academy organised a special programme, ‘Plastic Free Doon’, to raise awareness about reducing plastic use and protecting the environment.
The event began with an introduction and prayer, followed by a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Anoop Nautiyal, noted environmentalist and founder of the Social Development for Communities Foundation. Students presented an engaging skit on the harmful effects of plastic, a melodious solo song, and a lively dance performance, all highlighting the importance of sustainable living.
In his address, Nautiyal emphasised the need for collective action and introduced the Plastic Collection Van – Parvayavaran Express, a step towards responsible waste management in the city.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Principal reinforcing the school’s commitment to environmental conservation and inspiring students to contribute towards making Dehradun a plastic-free city.
