St. Joseph’s Academy celebrates academic excellence at annual awards function

DEHRADUN, 1 Aug: St. Joseph’s Academy celebrated excellence, perseverance and dedication at its annual awards ceremony for the academic session 2025-26.
The school recognised academic excellence by felicitating the Class Toppers across various grades. Teachers who maintained 100% attendance throughout the academic year were likewise honoured for their exceptional dedication, sincerity and commitment to their profession.
The school’s outstanding performance in the ICSE examination was celebrated with Aarush Arora and Nishad Nanda jointly securing the first position with 99%, followed by Aradhya Joshi in the second position with 98.2%, and Kriday Gupta in the third position with 97.6%.
The exceptional achievements of the ISC examination were equally applauded. In the Science stream, Anushka Kotnala emerged as the school topper with 99.5%, followed by Siya Maheshwari with 99.25%, while Titiksha Chauhan and Ganya Sethi jointly secured the third position with 98.75%. In the Commerce stream, Jaya Kapoor topped with 97%, followed by Vibhor Kaura with 95.5%, while Kavya Taneja and Ayana Gupta shared the third position with 95.25%. In the Humanities stream, Daksh Joshi secured the top position with 98.5%, followed by Riddhima Negi with 97.5%, while Prateeti B. Habil secured the third position with 97.25%.
The coveted title of Josephite of the Year was conferred upon Daksh Joshi in recognition of his outstanding academic performance, exemplary leadership and all-round contribution to school life.
A proud moment of the ceremony was the felicitation of three distinguished members of the teaching fraternity for completing 25 years of dedicated service to the institution. Gurusharan Singh Hanspal,  Abha Khanna and Anuradha Tandon were honoured for their unwavering commitment and invaluable contribution to shaping generations of Josephites.
The programme commenced with a solemn prayer, followed by the introduction of the chief guest, Dr. BVRC Purushottam, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, Uttarakhand . A distinguished officer of the 2004 IAS Batch, Dr. Purushottam has served in several important positions in both the State and Central governments, including Secretary for Agriculture, Education and Planning in Uttarakhand and Private Secretary to Union Ministers. Widely recognised for his contributions to digital governance and education reforms, he has played a significant role in strengthening public administration and citizen-centric governance.
In his address, Dr Purushottam lauded the awardees on their achievements and encouraged them to uphold the values of integrity, discipline and innovation. Inspiring students to dream, believe and achieve, he said that success belongs to those who remain committed to their goals. Referring to the song Reach for the Stars, he urged the young Josephites to pursue their aspirations with determination and dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their chosen purpose.
Principal Brother Joseph, Community Leader Brother Ernest Martin and Community Member Brother PK Joseph, joined the gathering in applauding the remarkable achievements of the students and staff. As a token of the institution’s appreciation, the Principal  presented the chief guest with a memento.
The vote of thanks was proposed by the Head Girl and Head Boy.
