ACS Radha Raturi holds review of Home Department

Dehradun, 29 Dec: Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Radha Raturi chaired a review meeting of the State Home Department at the Secretariat, here, today. In the meeting, she directed all the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs/SPs) of the districts to immediately and on top priority ensure availability of adequate number of security personnel to take prisoners to medical facilities and on court dates, etc., as per the demand made by the prison officials.
She also insisted on urgent steps in the direction of realising the vision of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to ensure a drug-free Devbhoomi as soon as possible. Raturi said that the measures to constitute an Anti-Narcotics Task Force in the state should be taken at the earliest to be able to deal strictly with the narcotics and drug mafia. One drug inspector, each, in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions and 35 other personnel should be included in the task force, she added. She asked the Police Department to submit the proposal in this regard to the State Home Department at the earliest.
ACS Radha Raturi also instructed that necessary steps be taken on urgent basis to constitute a State Industrial Security Force (SISF) on the lines of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to protect establishments like banks, industrial establishment and PSUs, helipads and heliports and other sensitive establishments in the state. For this, police personnel and home guards should be made available at the earliest. She also reviewed all pending proposals related to this at the meeting. The ACS reminded that Chief Minister Dhami had given instructions to form the State Industrial Security Force (SISF).
In today’s meeting, Raturi said that the CM has also instructed the police officers to study the Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh models with respect to the constitution of the Anti Narcotics Task Force and also seek cooperation in this regard from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). This will help break the backbone of drug smugglers and expose interstate and international gangs.
Special Secretary, Home, Ridhim Aggarwal and senior officials of various related departments were present at the meeting.
