Dehradun, 28 Feb: A TB screening camp was organised at Raj Bhavan under the “100-Day TB Eradication Campaign” to promote awareness and prevention of tuberculosis (TB). The camp was conducted under the aegis of the National Health Mission, Uttarakhand, at which 73 officials, employees, and their family members underwent free screenings.

During the camp, health department experts provided information on TB symptoms, prevention, and treatment. The primary objective of the 100-Day TB Eradication Campaign is to strengthen diagnosis and treatment services, particularly for high-risk groups, including individuals above 60 years of age and those suffering from diabetes, HIV, and malnutrition.

On this occasion, Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) inspected the camp and reviewed its operations. He emphasised the need for collective efforts to eliminate TB, stating that timely screening and treatment can completely eradicate the disease. He also stressed the importance of making awareness campaigns more effective.

The Governor urged all employees and citizens to actively participate in the TB-Free India campaign and undergo regular health checkups.
