THDCIL celebrates 31st Founding Day

RISHIKESH, 12 Jul: THDC India Limited (THDCIL) celebrated its 31st Founding Day at Rishikesh, Projects and Unit Offices as the Corporation was incorporated on the same day in 1988. DV Singh, CMD, hoisted the THDCIL Flag at the Corporate Office, Rishikesh, and addressed the gathering of employees at a function organised in the Rasmanjari Hall. HL Arora, D(T), Dr Sunita Singh, CVO, RK Vishnoi, ED(Design & VPHEP) and HL Bharaj, ED(S&E/ Services), former senior employees such as AL Shah, BG Agrawal, MPS Tyagi, PPS Mann, DK Gupta and other senior officials of the Corporation were present on the occasion. DV Singh enthusiastically presented the achievements and ongoing activities of the corporation. He said that, since the beginning of commercial operations, THDCIL had paid the highest dividend of Rs 335.21 Crore in 2017-18. Despite the poor monsoon, Tehri HPP and Koteshwar HEP generated 4300 MU electricity while the design energy target was 3952 MU. He spoke about the progress of Tehri PSP, VPHEP, Dhukwan SHP and Khurja Super Thermal Power Project as well as Sankosh Power Project in Bhutan. Singh also expressed happiness at the CSR activities and described the future plans in detail. Retired senior employees AL Shah, BG Agarwal and MPS Tyagi also addressed the gathering and encouraged the employees. Mudra Dance Group, Dehradun, and Skeleton Dance Group, Delhi, presented eye catching cultural performances. Awards were also given for Best Employees in Executive and Workman Category under the THDCIL Award and Reward Scheme as well as Suggestion Mela and Meritorious Students (THDC Wards). NK Prasad, AGM(P&A), proposed the vote of thanks. Today, THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1513 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000MW), Koteshwar HEP (400MW) and Wind Power Projects of 50MW at Patan & 63MW at Dwarka in Gujarat to its credit.
