Tragic accident kills 5 in Dunda in Uttarkashi, CM announces ex-gratia

Uttarkashi, 19 Nov: Just a day after the tragic bus accident in Chamoli which killed more than 12 persons last evening, news has been received of another tragic accident killing 5, this time from Uttarkashi5 people died after the car fell into the gorge; one person is seriously injured.
Six people were said to be in the car at the time of the accident. Information about the death of 5 people has come to light in the accident. The accident happened on Yamunotri Highway. The police and the district administration teams have left for the spot. More information is being gathered in the matter. A car met with an accident on Yamunotri Highway near Brahmakhal in Dunda Tehsil area of Uttarkashi. Six people were in the car when it went out of control and fell into a deep gorge. Five people have been reported killed in the accident.
SDRF, local police and administration teams have left for the spot. There were three women and three men in the vehicle. The injured woman has been sent to the hospital. The vehicle has fallen into a 300 deep ditch. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the vehicle accident near Brahmakhal on the Yamunotri Highway in Uttarkashi district. The Chief Minister directed for a magisterial inquiry into the accident and also announced an exgratia amount of Rs two lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. He also directed the officials to ensure arrangements for free treatment of the injured in the accident.

It may be recalled that last evening, a bus had also met with an accident in Chamoli, killing around 12 persons on the spot itself.
