Dehradun, 16 Dec: The Indian Military Academy (IMA) played host to a gathering of 150 officers from the 75 Regular Course, ACC, and others, along with their spouses, reunited to commemorate 40 years since their commissioning into the Armed Forces in 1984. The event, held on 15-16 December celebrated the enduring bonds of camaraderie, leadership, and service forged at the Academy.

The reunion commenced with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the IMA War Memorial, where the officers paid homage to their comrades who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during various operations. This act of reverence reflected the unwavering solidarity and respect the course holds for the valiant officers of the tri-services.

Officers travelled from across the country to revisit their Alma Mater, reminiscing about their formative years at IMA, which instilled in them the finest qualities of leadership, discipline, and patriotism. The 75 Regular Course has a distinguished legacy, with its members achieving outstanding feats in their careers, including numerous honours and awards for bravery and exemplary service. Notably, the course boasts the unique distinction of having its alumni hold the prestigious positions of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and the Chief of Air Staff (CAS).  The currently serving, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Chief of Air Staff, are also a part of this course.

While the majority of these officers have now retired, their contributions to nation-building remain significant, reflecting their enduring commitment to the country’s progress and security.

The reunion was not just a celebration of past achievements but also a gesture of gratitude towards the Indian Military Academy, whose rigorous training and values shaped these officers into soldiers and leaders of remarkable calibre.
