Dehradun, 16 Dec: Grassroots Awareness and Technical Institute for Society (GATI), in collaboration with Uttarakhand Education and Research Centre (URSC), is organising one-day workshops on “Scientific Explanation of Miracles” in the schools of Jaunpur Development Block, Tehri Garhwal, for the purpose of scientific consciousness and awareness.
The main objective of these workshops is to inform students and villagers about the need to be cautious of so-called miracle performers who mislead society. Such individuals create illusions of various miracles, trapping people in their web and causing mental and financial harm to the innocent public.
Starting from 11 December, these workshops are being conducted at various schools, including Rajkiya Inter College Miyani, Rajkiya Inter College Shrikot, Rajkiya Inter College Ghodakhuri, Rajkiya Inter College Junior High School Jhanjari, Garhwal Vikas Kendra Academy Shrikot, Sardar Singh Rawat Rajkiya Inter College Nainbagh, Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College Nainbagh, DPS School Nainbagh, Rajkiya Inter College Garkhet, Rajkiya Inter College Kyari, Rajkiya Uchchtar Madhyamik Vidyalaya Koti, Rajkiya Uchchtar Madhyamik Vidyalaya Sendul, and Rajkiya Uchchtar Madhyamik Vidyalaya Biraud. Through these workshops, the society is educating teachers and students about the science behind the so-called miracles.
The workshops involve demonstrations by resource persons of the society, showcasing experiments such as wearing a trident on the tongue, making water “reach heaven” and bringing it back, igniting a fire in a havan without flame, heating water using fire on top of the head, cooking tea over fire, performing fire-eating and fire-bathing, changing ropes of different sizes into a single shape, making a sweet taste appear through paper, lifting a bottle with a rope using mantra power, and making a pitcher filled with rice float using a knife, among other such experiments. These are explained and demonstrated through scientific methods. Students are also being trained to perform these activities themselves.
At the end of these workshops, GATI will provide the participating colleges with materials related to the workshop for further use. All the schools have stated that these workshops are extremely important for spreading awareness and promoting scientific consciousness.
The workshops are being conducted by Jitendra Bhatanagar from Gwalior, who is presenting the scientific explanations behind various miracles. The objectives of the workshops are being shared by Neeraj Uniyal, the Secretary of GATI. The society members, Girish Mohan and Kuldeep Singh Bisht, are also contributing to the workshops.
