Dehradun, 13 May: Two minor girls have alleged that they were raped by two youths after being lured by them, police said on Monday.
Two youths identified as Sahil (26) and Ahetram (21), who reside in different localities of Dehradun, have been arrested. Cases under section 376 (rape) and POCSO Act have been registered against them.
When asked whether there is any love jihad angle in the case, a police official stated that he did not see any such angle. “We will wait for medical reports and other investigations before jumping to any conclusion,” said the police official.
The case came to light when parents of the two girls filed a case at Rajpur police station that their daughters were untraceable. Sensing the gravity of the case, SSP, Dehradun, Ajai Sngh immediately asked the Rajpur police station to investigate the case and find the two girls.
After seeing CCTV cameras and putting mobiles on surveillance, the police found the two girls from Sahastradhara. The two youths – Sahil and Ahetram, who lured these girls, were also arrested and cases of rape were filed against them.
The two youths were later produced before a designated court which sent them to jail.
