Two more test positive in U’khand, tally rises to 57



DEHRADUN, 30 Apr: Two more persons were reported Corona positive in Uttarakhand, today, taking the total tally of Corona cases to 57 now. Both the cases reported positive today are from district Udham Singh Nagar and had been kept in isolation at district hospital in Rudrapur. As many as 178 samples were sent for testing to various laboratories, today, while 553 reports were received today, of them 551 turning out to be negative. Of the total number of reports received today, 31 were tested in private laboratories. According to Additional Secretary, Health, and Nodal Officer for COVID-19 Yugal Kishore Pant, presently there are 21 active cases in the state, while the remaining positive persons have already recovered. He also disclosed that the recovery percentage in Uttarakhand is 63.16 percent and the matter of relief was that there had not been a single mortality due to Corona infection in the state.
Further, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, today, inaugurated yet another virology laboratory in the state at Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Medical College in Srinagar (Pauri) for Corona testing. This is the fourth government laboratory to have been approved by ICMR for Corona testing in the state. This laboratory will cater to Pauri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts. This laboratory has a daily Corona testing capacity of 100 samples. During the e-inauguration of the laboratory by the CM, Minister of State for Higher Education Dhan Singh Rawat and Secretary Health Nitesh Jha were also present.
