AGRA, 19 Nov: An international film festival was organised at The Global Taj from 15 to 17 November. Films from 10 countries were screened. During the three-day festival, the Uttarakhand film, ‘Major Nirala’ was also screened. This is the first time in the history of the Uttarakhand film industry that a film from the state was screened at an international film festival. People greatly appreciated the film. Producer Arushi Nishank, Director Ganesh Veeran, Assistant Director BS Negi, Production Manager Gajendra Chauhan along with Dushyant Dhudhiyal were present on the occasion. Rajesh Malguri played the prominent role in the movie based on the book written by Cabinet Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank. Expressing her happiness on the occasion, Aarushi Nishank said, “’Major Nirala’ is a unique Garhwali film showcasing the military backdrop of Uttarakhand. The film describes the pain of every Uttarakhand resident, whose son is in the Indian Army, while describing the suffering of Major Nirala’s family.”
