Unveiling of book ‘Vibrant Birds of Kotdwar’

GAIRSAIN (Bhararisain), Aug: At a grand ceremony held today in the Assembly Building, Bhararisain, the book “Vibrant Birds of Kotdwar” was jointly unveiled by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Ritu Khanduri Bhushan.
On this occasion, Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal, Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi, MLAs Sehzad, Anil Nautiyal, Munna Singh Chauhan, Savita Kapoor, Asha Nautiyal, Renu Bisht, Sarita Arya, Vinod Kandari, Brij Bhushan Gairola, Durgesh Lal Sah, Suresh Gadhiya, DGP Shri Deepam Seth, along with secretaries of various departments and officers of the Assembly Secretariat were present.
The book is a compilation of more than 450 bird species found in the Kotdwar region, including several rare species. The stunning photographs of these birds have been captured by photographer Rajeev Bisht.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dhami said that the book will not only serve as an important source for nature lovers and ornithologists but will also open new avenues for tourism in the Kotdwar region.
Ritu Khanduri Bhushan said that the presence of such diverse and rare bird species in a naturally rich region like Kotdwar is a matter of pride. Through this book, the natural beauty and biodiversity of Kotdwar will gain recognition at both the national and international levels.
