New Delhi, 23 Dec: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) unit of the Uttarakhand Police has once again brought international laurels to the state by demonstrating exceptional efficiency. In recognition of their extraordinary service in disaster management and complex rescue operations, the US Embassy has honoured SDRF Uttarakhand Police with a special memento and a letter of appreciation. This honour was specifically bestowed for the courageous, prompt and humane rescue missions conducted to safely evacuate foreign nationals, including American tourists, who were stranded under difficult and hostile conditions while touring Uttarakhand.
Commandant Arpan Yaduvanshi received the memento and appreciation letter provided by the US Embassy. This honour symbolises the loyalty, hard work, dedication, and spirit of service of all the brave personnel of SDRF Uttarakhand Police, who remain constantly ready for public service with the resolve of ‘Service, Security, and Dedication’ in every situation.
On this occasion Yaduvanshi stated that under skilled and inspiring leadership, the force has successfully conducted several inaccessible and challenging missions. These include the rescue of two foreign female trekkers stranded at Mount Chaukhamba in Chamoli district, foreign trekkers stuck in Vasudhara near the Badrinath area, and rescue operations carried out in high Himalayan regions like Gangotri. Furthermore, due to effective coordination and guidance, all these operations were completed in a safe, well-planned, and time-bound manner.
In the geographically sensitive state of Uttarakhand, the SDRF has performed numerous life-saving tasks for domestic and international tourists stranded in mountainous regions, glaciers, rivers, and trekking routes through quick decision-making, precise strategy, and the efficient use of resources.
