Vasant Vihar Police Station personnel felicitated for ‘outstanding services’

Dehradun, 28 Jan: On the occasion of Republic Day, the Human Rights and Social Justice Organisation felicitated the officers and police personnel of Vasant Vihar Police Station for their outstanding services rendered in public interest.

The felicitation programme was organised at Vasant Vihar Police Station, located at Seema Dwar, where all police officers and staff posted at the station were honoured for their commendable work. On this occasion, nameplates and ID cards were also distributed to all police personnel.

The chief guest was former Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court, Justice Rajesh Tandon. Special guests included Sukhmal Jain, Ashok Verma, Jayaraj, and Sadhana Jayaraj. The programme was presided over by the National President of the organisation, Sachin Jain, and conducted by State President Madhu Jain.

Among those honoured were Station House Officer Ashok Rathore, Durgesh Kothiyal, Mithun Singh, Shashi Purohit, Mukesh Negi, Vijay Prakash, Vinay Prasad Bhatt, Narendra Singh Rana, Gambhir Singh Rana, Satish Singh, Mahendra Singh Negi, along with all other police personnel posted at the station.

On this occasion, Inspector Ashok Rathore expressed his gratitude to the Human Rights and Social Justice Organisation for the felicitation ceremony and encouraging the police force.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Justice Rajesh Tandon emphasised that human rights—such as the right to life, liberty, equality, and dignity—are fundamental to every human being without discrimination. He stated that human rights ensure individual freedom, elimination of discrimination, socio-economic justice, fair legal protection, access to health and education, and help in establishing a peaceful society. He further remarked that the Human Rights and Social Justice Organisation and the police administration are continuously working together towards these objectives, and such recognition boosts morale and ultimately benefits the general public.

The special guests also shared their views, stating that they have closely observed the organisation’s work at the grassroots level and appreciated its consistent efforts in serving the public interest under all circumstances.
