Rishikesh, 18 Aug: Senior journalist Harish Tiwari, who served for a long period as the Rishikesh bureau in‑charge of Dainik Jagran, passed away this morning at AIIMS Rishikesh while undergoing treatment. He was around 60 years old and had been unwell for some time. News of his demise spread a wave of grief across the journalistic fraternity and among his acquaintances.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Harish Tiwari, stating that his contribution to journalism will always be remembered. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family in this difficult time.
Director General, Information, Banshidhar Tiwari also termed the demise an irreparable loss to the media world and conveyed his condolences. The President of Uttaranchal Press Club, Ajay Rana, also expressed grief on behalf of all the members and observed that, with Harish Tiwari’s departure, journalism has lost an experienced and active voice.
