Water supply woes force people to threaten LS boycott

Mussoorie, 2 Apr: People from Landour Rajmandi here have threatened to boycott the Lok Sabha elections if the water crisis in their area is not solved. The residents of Rajmandi protested against the Garhwal Jal Sansthan, Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi and the state government, here, today.
They said as the residents were not getting proper water supply. They were not getting even 5 minutes of supply in the whole day and many complaints had been filed with higher officials about the problem, but action was taken by them.
Residents Anil Kumar and Pushpa Devi said new connections had been taken by most of the residents of Rajmandi so that the water problem could be solved, but it had not helped. Those who participated in the protest said their area had not been getting sufficient drinking water for months. As the lineman, Danpal, was involved in corruption, water was being supplied to big and commercial institutions, but the common people were being ignored. They alleged that MLA Ganesh Joshi had assured them that their problems would be solved, but it had proved to be a false promise. As such, they had decided to boycott the Lok Sabha elections. They also demanded immediate transfer of lineman Danpal Singh.
