Sahaspur, 9 Feb: Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan participated as the Chief Guest in a ‘Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao’ programme at the Shri Guru Ram Rai Inter College, here, today.
Addressing the gathering, Bhushan said that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many schemes are being implemented for the protection and upliftment of daughters. Schemes like Sukanya Samriddhi under Beti Badhao – Beti Bachao have set a pattern of success. In today’s society, daughters are proving themselves in every field. Along with education, they are making important contribution in the realms of business, army, administrative services, etc.
As many as 25 girl students of Sahaspur Inter College were also felicitated by the Speaker. Addressing the girl students on this occasion, she said that along with good knowledge, it is also necessary to be cultured.
School Manager Chandra Mohan Payal, School Principal Dr Ravindra Saini, Pradeep Kumar, Jayant Kumar, RC Nautiyal, Pramod Kumar, Shayari Gairola, Neeraj Verma, Alok Bijalwan and hundreds of students were present at the programme.
