DEHRADUN, 1 Dec: Renowned scriptwriter and actor Zeishan Quadari, known for his work in *Gangs of Wasseypur* and *Halahal*, captivated the audience during a session moderated by Roopa Soni. Quadari shared his experiences from his childhood in Wasseypur to his rise in the film industry as a writer and actor.

Reflecting on his journey, Quadari revealed that while he wasn’t fond of academics, he always dreamed of pursuing a career outside the conventional realm. After completing his graduation, he moved to Mumbai to become an actor but eventually found his true calling in scriptwriting. His meeting with Anurag Kashyap paved the way for the cult-classic *Gangs of Wasseypur*.

He emphasized that storytelling is a brave endeavor requiring significant risk and persistence. “Scriptwriting is crucial, but getting feedback is even more important,” he said. Quadari highlighted that *Gangs of Wasseypur’s* characters were inspired by real people, with actors immersing themselves in the town’s culture to bring authenticity to their roles.

When asked about his favorite characters, he chose ‘Dafinate’ and ‘Sardar Khan.’ He encouraged aspiring filmmakers to bring their scripts forward, acknowledging that success comes with resilience despite challenges. “My job is to entertain, and it’s up to the audience to interpret,” he concluded.
